Myah got a butterfly habitat for her birthday this year. We got the caterpillars a couple of weeks ago and then we watched them transform into their crysalis'. It was amazing to watch them grow bigger and bigger and then climb to the top of the little container and hang themselves upside down and turn into these little cocooned critters. If you moved the paper they had attached themselves to they would wiggle inside and just shake themselves.
Then one day we heard Myah screaming from her room that her butterflies were hatching and she saw them out in the habitat as butterflies. She now has 6 butterflies flying around.
It has been so fun to watch this process with the kids this summer. The whole process didn't take very long and it was fun for the kids to see nature in action.
