New Addition to the Crew

Cole has become the proud foster parent of the classroom guinnea pig for summer break. He is so excited! He has wanted one for awhile now and this is a great non-commital chance for him to see if he really wants the responsibility of caring for one. He is pretty cute for being a rodent. His name is Oreo. Apparently Cole has been taking care of him for most of the school year and Oreo wasn't even his classroom's pet! He was in the other 3rd grade classroom!

Myah's Birthday Party!

Well, I survived my first slumber party with 12 little girls! Myah has been wanting to have a slumber party for a birthday for quite a long time but we have never had the room to do so. So I told her she could this year and it wasn't too bad. Actually it was the easiest party I have done. She had 12 little girls here and they all got along really well. The biggest challenge was getting them to go to sleep ( I had 2 up past midnight!). They all made their own little pizza's for dinner and they watched a movie up in the theater room where they all slept as well. Myah had fun and none of the girls wanted to go home in the morning! So I think it was a success!

Dylan flew like Superman!

Dylan was the only kid brave enough to go on the Gravitron with Ken this year. He was soooo excited! The kids had talked about it all day how they would all go on it together, but when it came to actually getting on, Dylan was the only one who would do it. When he came off, his face had the hugest grin and he was so excited to tell us all about it. He thought it was so cool that he could fly like Superman and climb up the wall like Spiderman. Even after their little brother came off and told them how much fun it was, we still had no more takers! Go Dylan!!!!

The first pic is of him waiting to go on, then him inside the Gravitron, then him just off the ride telling us how he had climbed the wall like Spiderman!

Crab Festival

We had fun this weekend at Kodiak's Crab Festival! It is equivalent to Moses Lake's Spring Fest. They have food booths and rides and vendors all over the pier and downtown. It was the 50th anniversary this year and was a lot of fun. They have a parade, bed races, and all sorts of events all weekend. I think the kids had the most fun digging for coins in the huge sawdust pile that they filled with $2000 worth of coins. It filled up about 1/4 of a parking lot. We got there after the main event with it, but the kids still walked away with money!

We have moved in!!!

Well, we have moved in and are finally getting settled in. We are sure loving it! I am adding on some pics of the home and kids. These were taken while we were moving in.I will try to get a video of the home on here, then you can piece it all together and see it all. One pic is Cole climbing the rock wall that was left for us. Ken is taking it down and we are going to divide it between the 2 kids' rooms so they each have one to climb on. This was in the bonus room above the garage that Ken is going to turn into a theater/ game room.

I am still trying to adjust to life with lots of neighbor kids. I always have at least 2 extra kids running around the house after school if not more. But our kids are loving it. There are kids the same ages as ours on all sides of our home and up and down the street. I am adding a picture of the kids on our bouy swings. They are in almost every yard that has kids living in the home. People use them for swings as opposed to anything else because they are so readily available with all the boats around. The previous owners of the home were nice enought to leave their 3 bouy swings for our kids. They love going out and swinging on them.

We now have more than enough room for visitors to come and experience Kodiak!!! This weekend is Crab Festival. A HUGE event in Kodiak. We are excited to go. This year is the 50th anniversary of the Festival. We will get pics and let you know how it is.

I am adding on a pic of our nightmarish backyard and if anyone has any brilliant ideas on what to do with this mess, please let us know!!! We own another 20+ feet on top of the hill that has our garden and green house there. But we need to do something with the steep drop off and the access to the top.

We are all doing well and are excited for school to be out this week so we can enjoy these long summer days. I was sitting in our living room last night at a little after 11pm reading a book by the sunlight STILL coming through the living room window. No lamp needed. So weird!!!!! But I must admit I have enjoyed it! :)

Mothers Day!

Well, I hope that everyone had a great Mothers Day! I did! I got some beautiful flowers and many great cards and projects made from the kids. We had a fun day. When we got home from church we also had 2 visitors in the driveway. They sure had our cat all puffed up into huge ball of fuzz! He is not sure what to think of the deer yet. We got most of our stuff moved into our new home Saturday and are camping out again in our apartment. Deja vu!!! We will be moving into the home on Wednesday and are soooo excited!!!!

Okay, it is really happening!!!!

Oh my goodness! I can't believe it!!! It is really happening! We are moving our things into our new home today and Saturday!!! I am finally getting excited about it. I haven't let myself get excited because we have waited soooo long for this that I didn't want to jinks it with getting excited about it and then it all fall apart. But the owners of the home moved out all their things yesterday and so we are starting to get our things in. We can move our bodies in next Wednesday after we sign all the paperwork. YEAH!!!!!
