Hot dog and fries anyone?

Okay, I just can't stop laughing about this one! I had to make a cake for Myah's end of the school year concert tonight. They have a bake sale auction for a fund raiser. So we made a cake that was just fun and kids would get a kick out of and want their parents to buy! This just ended up looking too real. I just can't get over it and wanted to share with you all. Super easy to make and my kids love it!

AHHHH!

I had a crazy day yesterday! I had my first job interview in 10 years! I applied to be the ward custodian for our building here and they actually wanted to interview me for the position. I was not expecting that. I thought they would just say sure and hand me the toilet brush! :) We have been needing one here for awhile now and the bishop was asking for volunteers and I asked if it was something that I could do and he said sure. It is only 3 hours a week and I thought I could do that. It comes with a great benefit as well! I get a parking permit for headquarters in Salt Lake City! I am going to be using that quite often. :) LOL!

Things are moving along nicely with our home as well. We have the final inspection today. We have gotten all the safety issues taken care of and some other minor details also. Ken went over last Saturday and helped the sellers with all the things that needed done and so now we are just waiting to get the paperwork from the appraiser. I am hoping to get this done soon because Ken is headed to San Fransisco for a week at the end of the month for PACS training for a new position with his job. It is a computerized system for patient records or something, I'm not quite sure what all it involves. The owners have said they will be out on May 7 and we can move in after that. YEAH!!!!

"Jewel" beach

We headed out today after church for a beach that is actually called Jewel beach. They call it that because of the amount of sea glass that is all over the beach. It was a beautiful day, 53 degrees! We had fun just walking around and looking for "jewels". Dylan had fun playing in the surf and came to realize that if you go out in the water deep enough the surf will quickly fill up your boots with water! I got some funny pics of him literally dumping water out of his boots! Needless to say we drove home with a couple of half dressed kids! Dylan for being soaking wet and the girls for being covered in sand and wet. The girls were busy building a sand castle and decorating it with all the jewels that they had found. It was a fun afternoon.

Myah's first lost tooth!

She finally did it! She has waited sooooo long to loose a tooth! She is almost 7 and has been sad since she was 5 that all her friends were loosing teeth and she wasn't. We noticed that the front two were wiggley a month or so ago and she has been wiggling them to get them out. When it came down to pulling it out, she wasn't so sure and so it sat in her mouth for a week or so by just a couple of strings and it actually sat sideways in her mouth. Last night she decided to get brave and she yanked it out! YEAH MYAH! The tooth fairy came and Myah found a gold dollar under her pillow. She was so excited to go to school this morning and show everyone that she had lost a tooth.

The Kodiak Wildlife Refuge Museum

Today we decided to head to the Wildlife Refuge Museum after conference. It was so neat the things they have done in there and we all had a lot of fun. We learned a lot about the Kodiak bear and all the other animals that share the island here with us. They also have a huge grey whale skeleton hung from the ceiling. That was neat to see. We also got to sign Colton up for the Salmon Summer Camp. It is a week long summer camp that they learn about the salmon, the oceans, water cycles, etc. They get to go tidepooling, hiking, lots of games, crafts, and fishing. Cole is very excited. We actually signed him up for the Art session of it, so a lot of it will be art orientated. I must say I think I would have fun going to this!!! Cole is also, he loves to draw and do craft things like that.

Spruce Cape beach

We headed out to the beach last night after Ken got off work to play around and have fun. It was a fun beach. They have dumped old military stuff all over the beach years ago and so there are tank parts and pieces, old engine blocks, just all sorts of cool stuff. But it made really fun tide pools! We also found lots of "jewels" as the kids like to call them. Old broken glass pieces that have been washed around in the surf for so long that it is smooth and shiny and in all sorts of shapes. I also found a couple of pieces of old pottery and Ken found some old intact bottles that were in pretty good shape. They look like old medicine bottles and an old ink bottle. The boys found a huge colony of hermit crabs and a bunch of little fish. Quincy was just so excited everytime she found a sea shell or even a piece of sea weed! It was cute. Myah only cared about collecting the "jewels", she was in princess heaven!

Colton gets glasses! :)

Cole just recently came home with a note from his teacher expressing her concern for Cole not being able to see well with his reading. So we took him into the doctor and sure enough he is in need of glasses. His glasses finally came in, we had to order them over the internet because they were either $300.00 on the island or $8.00 a pair over the internet. Hmmm, let me think really hard! :) Luckily he likes to wear them. A lot of his buddies at school have glasses and he thinks they are pretty cool. We think he looks pretty cool in them too!
